Getting around Samui is very easy to do with local taxis, the so-called "soongtaos" which are covered pick-up trucks and they are the main public transportation. The fare depends on distance. It's recommended agreeing on the price before getting in.

But ifd you prefer to be free and autonomous to discover by your own some hidden places, the odeal is, of course, to rent a vehicle.
